GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Intern shall be engaged as follows:
a. Exposed to the regular core functions of the Division and as such shall have the opportunity to observe the day-to-day operations and engage in on-the-job training in specific actions delegated by the Supervisor.
b. Engaged in a specific self-contained assignment described below:
Support ongoing social media promotion efforts, including by drafting content, copywriting, editing video clips, collecting and selecting photos from the ground, scheduling and publishing posts, and disseminating published posts to relevant stakeholders for audience amplification, for both Investment and Quality Infrastructure components. Contribute to creating a more consistent social media presence.
Support video production, edit videos from the footage archive, repurpose clips for various platforms and come up with new ways of using video to increase project visibility, for both Investment and Quality Infrastructure components.
Contribute to stakeholder communication by drafting entries for the monthly newsletter, including both Investment and Quality Infrastructure component news.
Contribute to improving the visual cohesiveness of communication materials by aligning the team’s intellectual outputs to the Programme’s visual identity for both Investment and Quality Infrastructure components.
Contribute to graphically designing communication products by either independently designing or implementing comments to design drafts using design software such as Canva, Affinity Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, or Adobe Acrobat.
Attend fortnightly IET/PST Communication Working Group meetings and support divisional level communication tasks emanating from these meetings, such as keeping the editorial calendar up to date, contributing to divisional knowledge sharing initiatives, drafting content for joint articles, etc.
Support the curation of written and visual content featured on the online Invest in ACP Platform and support exercises to improve the visibility of the Portal concerning investment promotion partners, SEZs, and investment profiles, including by selecting photos, providing suggestions on web design, drafting news articles and further web pages.
c. Prepare an end-of-internship report; to be submitted to and cleared by UNIDO Internship Coordination.
d. Other Special emerging Projects that may enhance the learning experience of the Intern.
MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Age: Minimum 20 years on the first day of the internship.
Education: Enrolled in a university degree programme; or begin the internship within one year of completing a university degree; or completed a university degree and be sponsored as part of an academic or development programme.
Field of specialization: Economics, MBA, IT, humanities or social science background
Desirable skills: Familiarity with photo and video editing, as well as graphic design software such as: Canva, Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
